At the heart of the upcoming immersive dub performance at Rich Mix, alongside the legendary Scientist, is Greg Hunter — widely known through his long-running project Dubsahara.
Greg Hunter is part of a generation that has expanded dub’s vocabulary, pushing it beyond the traditional sound-system format into spatial, ambient, and experimental territories while remaining deeply connected to its roots. Emerging from West London’s rich musical ecosystem, his work treats dub as method — using repetition, space, delay, subtraction, and atmosphere as core compositional tools rather than effects.
As Dubsahara, Greg has developed a distinctive sonic identity: deeply textural, spacious, and restrained, where bass, echo, and silence shape the music as much as melody or rhythm. His releases sit confidently within the lineage of UK dub innovators while blurring boundaries between dub, ambient, electronic music, and sound art.

Alongside his creative output, Greg is also a highly respected recording and mix engineer, with decades of experience across studio and live environments. He was a core collaborator with The Orb, worked closely with Youth through the Dub Trees project, and has contributed engineering and production expertise across a wide range of experimental and alternative music contexts.
This depth of experience feeds directly into his role at Rich Mix. In addition to performing, Greg will be actively supporting the delivery of the workshop, sharing practical insights into dub mixing techniques, studio workflows, and the creative use of space, delay, and texture.
Together with Scientist, Greg Hunter represents dub as both artform and engineering discipline — a living, evolving language where sound, space, and technology are inseparable.
