About Dub Engine
Dub Engine is the live and educational arm of The Science of Dub. It exists to bring dub’s ideas into real space —through immersive live performances, large-scale sound systems, and hands-on workshops that explore how dub works as both music and method.
What Dub Engine Does
Live Performances
Dub Engine delivers powerful live dub performances designed for immersive and multi-speaker environments. Every performance is mixed live, in real time, using delay, echo, space, and bass as expressive tools.
The audience is not placed in front of the sound — they are placed inside it.
Why We Love It
Workshops & Knowledge Sharing
Alongside performances, Dub Engine runs workshops that open up the craft of dub engineering to artists, producers, students, and communities.
These sessions focus on listening, experimentation, and shared knowledge — exploring dub as a live, performative practice rather than a fixed process.
Sound-System & Immersive Practice
Dub Engine connects traditional sound-system culture with contemporary immersive and spatial audio thinking — treating space itself as an instrument.
Why Dub Engine Exists
Dub Engine & The Science of Dub
Dub Engine operates as a core strand within The Science of Dub. Where The Science of Dub explores dub as idea, culture, and system,
Dub Engine is where those ideas are tested publicly — through sound, space, and collective experience.
If The Science of Dub asks what dub is, Dub Engine demonstrates what dub does.
